About Signal
With the aim of preserving your privacy and providing cost-free web-based communication, Signal is a secure messaging app. It was created by Open Whisper Systems, an open source software initiative devoted to giving everyone access to secure communication tools. End-to-end encryption for messaging, voice calls, video calls and group chats is provided by Signal, which is available for Android, iOS, Windows and MacOS.
Signal App: Features
+
- Encryption: The Signal app features end-to-end encryption technology which ensures all communication is secure and private. This protects the privacy of every message, call and file transfer.
- Group Chats: The Signal app supports group chats with up to 1000 people. Users can create a group chat and add members, as well as leave or delete the group at any time.
- Video Calls: Signal allows users to make high-quality, encrypted video calls with up to 40 people.
- SMS and MMS Support: Signal supports both SMS (text messages) and MMS (multimedia messages). Users can also send GIFs, files and stickers. All messages are sent over the internet so they do not affect your contract allowance.
- Stories: Users are able to update their Stories using images, videos and text. These Stories disappear after 24 hours but are a great way of letting your friends and family see what you're up to.
Signal App: Design & User Interface
+
The Signal app features a simple user interface, so it takes no time at all to find the features you need. Make a call or send a message in one click from opening the app. The app also has a choice of light and dark mode as well as customizable themes.
Signal App: Performance
+
The Signal app is fast and reliable, with few lags or delays in sending messages or making calls. The app works best when users are connected to high speed WiFi, but it is compatible with mobile data too. With disappearing messages the app can be configured to use very little data, making it ideal for users who have limited storage.
